What's Onstage in July 2022!

When I first moved to Dallas from Oklahoma, I knew very little about the Dallas Theatre Market. Really, I only know that Dallas HAD a Theatre Market, which is mostly why I chose to live here. My first performance gig in DFW was with Rover Dramawerks, doing something they called "One Day Only." I was absolutely intrigued and loved every minute of it! Carol M. Rice was the absolute sweetest and most creative person in my eyes to come up with such an amazing way to generate new plays and new playwrights! Being among these wonderfully talented individuals who wrote, directed and performed 20 minute plays, all in 24 hours was the highlight of my year, every time. But, not only was "One Day Only" incredible, I soon found out that the productions at Rover Dramawerks were much the same-- new plays, new playwrights, creative collaboration--a chance for something fresh! This month, Rover Dramawerks brought us a playful situational comedy, Artifice that kept the audience laughing as the characters' plans became more and more foiled. I'm grateful for the laughter! As we all come out of the COVID pandemic (or, at least into a more manageable state of it,) and continue to deal with the our daily struggles, I am exceedingly grateful for the opportunity to find relief through comedy and community.
