What's Onstage in June 2022!

I want to present what will be performed in June around DFW, but first let me highlight some of my favorite productions that took place in May. Garland Civic Theatre absolutely blew me away with their production of Wait Until Dark. If I may speak a bit about myself, for those who are not aware. I am a strong advocate for women and for those with disabilities, and this production really highlighted the independence that women took on in the 1960s, as well as the determination and desire that is felt by those with disabilities. Many times, as a society, we just assume that individuals with disabilities must be incompetent, because we don't understand how they interpret their world. But, it's absolutely vital that we learn to speak their language! Ask questions, step outside your comfort zone and engage with these individuals. I appreciate, so much, that Garland Civic Theatre made this show apart of their season! There's so much to learn and really draw from in this play. Next, I want to commend Richardson Theatre Centre for their steadfastness in consistently bringing such high quality and just FUN productions. I have never been disappointed by them. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum was full of life and humor, just like the theater itself. There's an inviting warmth that comes with the atmosphere of the theater and it remains to be one of my favorite places to just relax and enjoy the show. There's also a sense of belonging in the RTC community, no matter your background or beliefs, you are free to be yourself within this community.
