MIND OVER MURDER Auditions at Pegasus Theatre

 PEGASUS THEATRE AUDITION NOTICE

Auditions for "Mind Over Murder!", by Kurt Kleinmann, a comedy murder-mystery presented in dynamic RadioVizion™, will be held in the Parlor at the First United Lutheran Church in Dallas on Saturday, February 11, and Sunday, February 12. Raymond Banda will direct the production.

What is RadioVizion?:
RadioVizion™ is an alternative technique devised by Pegasus Theatre for the presentation of the Living Black & White™ series of Harry Hunsacker adventures. RadioVizion™ does not employ the trade-secret makeup but instead focuses on recreating the experience and glamour of being in a live radio studio of the 1930s and 1940s. Live sound effects, actors at period-style live microphones, and costumes evocative of the era complete the effect.

Audition times are Saturday, Feb. 11, 1 – 5:00 pm, and Sunday, Feb. 12, 3 – 7 pm. The First United Lutheran Church is at 6202 E. Mockingbird Ln. in Dallas.

A complete rehearsal and performance calendar is on the audition sign-up page. Audition sides will be emailed to you.  https://www.theaterforms.com/PegasusDallas/MOM-RV/auditionform/

The production will be presented March 9 - 25 at the Bath House Cultural Center. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 8 pm and also Saturday matinees at 2 pm.

Who murdered famed magician Marko the Magnificent? Could it have been his manager? Or his wife? Perhaps his assistant. Can Harry Hunsacker solve this crime before it’s too late? The real trick will be if he can!

AVAILABLE ROLES: All roles are available to BIPOC and other actors. The specified ages indicate what age the actor needs to be able to portray.

Harry Hunsacker - Would-be actor turned would-be detective. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer. (Late 30s-early 40s)

Nigel Grouse - Harry’s paid-by-the-hour assistant. Once a very famous actor, he let a dependence on alcohol drag him down into the gutter. He credits Harry’s faith in him with giving him the courage to dry out. (Late 30s- early 40s)

Lt. Foster - A streetwise cop. On the surface, Harry is a thorn in the side of Foster. Deep down, Foster actually grudgingly likes Harry— although he’ll never admit it. (Late 30s-early 40s)

Marko Cesarino (really Alan Banister) - Marko the Magnificent. A successful magician known for his theatrical and death-defying acts. (30s-40s)

Nora Grey - A young reporter. Nora has a nose for news and is hoping this story will be her big break. (In her 20s)

Spuds Gillespie - A two-bit hoodlum. Marko owed him money and he intends to collect! (40s-50s)

Tracy Sloan - The magician’s lovely assistant. She is distraught about Marko’s death and feels responsible. Or is it all an act? (In her 20s)

Douglas Bailey - Marko’s manager. He was always supportive of Marko and now he’s supportive of Marko’s wife. Or is it more than that? (40s-50s)

Blanche Merkle - The maid. There’s something odd about Blanche. And she has an unusual love of sharp objects. (Any age)

Doc Hopper - The family doctor. Doc is a good soul and a good friend to the Banisters. What motive could he possibly have? (40s-50s)

Rose Banister - Marko’s wife. Rose plays the grieving widow to perfection. Could she be sincere in her mourning, or does she just enjoy crying on Douglas Bailey’s shoulder? (In her 30s)

Digby - The butler. There is something sinister and creepy about Digby. He has an unspoken connection with Blanche. Could they be in cahoots? (Any age)
