Audition Notice:

Runway Theatre is excited to hold auditions for Things My Mother Taught Me, by Katherine Disavino. Directed by Amy Jackson, this modern comedy centers on a young couple moving in together – and across the country to get away from their well-meaning but over-reaching parents. The production features characters who span in age from their late 20’s to mid 60’s.

Audition Dates: April 3rd and 5th at 7:00 p.m. with callbacks on April 5th at 8:00 p.m.

What do I need for auditions? 
Actors should prepare a 1-3 minute monologue about their strangest family member or memory and sides will be sent via email for callbacks. Secure an audition slot at RunwayTheatre.com/auditions.

Production Synopsis:
As Olivia and Gabe, twenty-somethings newly committed to each other, drive across the country to start life together, their parents prove the two will unpack more than boxes upon arrival. Moving day goes awry when unexpected reinforcements arrive and a hilarious mash up of generations demonstrates how the most important lessons in life aren’t always intentional. Can their new apartment hold all the love, laughs, worry, and wisdom smothering their new adventure? Laugh-out-loud funny, this production is sure to make you fall in love once more! Rated PG

Character Information:

OLIVIA KEEGAN – late 20s - mid 30’s; energetic; neat; slightly OCD.

KAREN KEEGAN – late 50s - 60s; Olivia’s mother; type A.

CARTER KEEGAN – 60s; Olivia’s father; the golfing type.

GABE LAWSON – late 20s - mid 30’s; a writer; good-natured; a little flumbly.

LYDIA LAWSON – late 50s - 60s; Gabe’s mother. A lot flumbly with a dash of zany.

WYATT LAWSON – 60s; Gabe’s father; a good guy. 

MAX MIROWSKI – no specific age; Polish accent; building super and super sarcastic.
