Brief Synopsis:
Peter is a blind and bitter former college professor and Anita is a saucy, streetwise young woman who volunteers to read to him in the hospital. The clash of intellect and wit takes the two from animosity and fear to friendship and understanding. Both come with questions, hers dealing with her station in life and her handsome yet abusive boyfriend Dominic, and his about past life choices. As their relationship develops, both end up with hopeful answers. (dark comedy)

Roles: 2 men, 1 woman, 1 either
PETER RAVENSWAAL (M) - early 60s-early 70s. Intelligent, gruff, and cynical. Other than being blind, you'd never guess that he's ill.
ANITA MERENDINO (F) - early 20s-early 30s. Tough street girl. Very optimistic and cheerful in order to hide a low self-esteem. Uneducated but eager. NY/Bronx accent preferred.
NURSE (any) - Complaining, immature new nurse who is somehow going to become a good nurse...one day.
DOMINIC DE CAESAR (M) - Anita's boyfriend. Mid 20s-mid 30s. A good looking, funny, charming (but not brilliant) street-wise guy who can turn violent when he doesn't get his way. NY/Bronx accent preferred.

All roles are available.
