Lakeside Community Theatre presents “Alice By Heart”
(The Colony, TX) March 26th, 2024: Alice by Heart, a musical with music by Duncan Sheik, lyrics by Steven Sater, and a book by Sater with Jessie Nelson is coming to the LCT Stage. The musical is inspired by Lewis Carroll's 1865 novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and was originally presented by London's Royal National Theatre in 2012. A 2012 Drama Desk Award nominee, Alice by Heart makes its REGIONAL PREMIER at Lakeside Community Theatre and will run for 4 weekends beginning on April 12th.
Alice by Heart reimagines Lewis Carroll’s classic tale in a World War II-era setting. The story follows Alice Spencer, a young girl seeking refuge in a London tube station during the Blitz. As she navigates the challenges of war, Alice, along with her friends, finds solace and escape in the whimsical world of Wonderland. Alice by Heart blends fantasy and reality, using Carroll’s iconic characters to explore themes of love, loss, and the power of imagination in times of adversity.
“Lakeside Community Theatre prides itself in producing unique productions, and Alice by Heart is no exception,” said Artistic Director David J. Wallis. “We are proud to be offering the Regional Premier of this fantastic work of art, from the creators of Spring Awakening.”
Serving on the production team of Alice by Heart are Spencer Bovaird (Director/Set & Lighting Design), Leslie Navarro-Bovaird (Director/Choreography), Billy Veer (Music Director), Campbell Bovaird (Associate Choreographer/Property Design), Cassandra Juarez (Stage Manager), and Meghan MacLellan (Costume Design).
Alice by Heart features performances by Ashley Tone, Nathan Rubens, Audrey Reidling, Tyler Halbrooks, Henri Sudy, Spencer Walsh, Olivia Goodspeed, Lauren Rodriguez, Noelle Saul, Jason English, Lilee Gifford, and Dakota Britvich
Tickets are $25 General Admission, and $22 for Senior/Student Admission. The show runs
April 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27, and May 3 at 8pm and May 4 at 3pm.
