Synopsis:

Michael Frayn's Noises Off takes a fond look at the follies of theatre folk, whose susceptibility to out-of-control egos, memory loss, and passionate affairs turn every performance into a high-risk adventure. This play-within-a-play captures a touring theatre troupe’s production of Nothing On in three stages: dress rehearsal, the opening performance, and a performance towards the end of a debilitating run. Frayne gives us a window into the inner workings of theatre behind the scenes, progressing from flubbed lines and missed cues in the dress rehearsal to mounting friction between cast members in the final performance. Brimming with slapstick comedy, Noises Off is a delightful backstage farce, complete with slamming doors, falling trousers, and -- of course -- flying sardines!

Characters:

5 Men and 4 Women – All need to speak with a British accent. Bonus points if Dotty’s character can switch back and forth between proper British and Cockney.

Cast members will receive a $300 stipend

LLOYD DALLAS - The director of a play-within-the-play, called Nothing's On.

GARRY LEJEUNE – Mid 20s-early 30s. An actor who frequently does not complete thoughts, easily fired up. Plays Roger, the estate agent looking to let the Brent's house in Nothing's On. Note: This character should be adapt at physical comedy that includes falling down stairs. Coaching will be provided.

BROOKE ASHTON – Early 20s-early 30s. A young inexperienced actress from London. Plays Vicki, who works for the tax authorities and is trying to woo Roger in Nothing's On. Note: This character spends a lot of time on stage in sexy underwear.
