New: Fair Assembly announces TWELFTH NIGHT, opening on February 13

Fair Assembly announces production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night (Or What You Will)

at Arts Mission Oak Cliff

“If music be the food of love, play on…” Orsino’s opening line is often quoted, but we sometimes forget the rest of it. “Give me excess of it”, he says, “that surfeiting, the appetite may sicken, and so die.” Twelfth Night (Or What You Will) is the last of Shakespeare’s warm comedies, and his final exploration of this genre before his greatest tragedies. Set on the Twelfth Day of Christmas, this mischievous feast of epiphanies explores questions of love, identity, grief, and the nature of desire.  Tickets are $35 regular price, but we offer $25 discounted tickets (no code needed)

More about Fair Assembly
Fair Assembly was founded in 2020 by SMU Meadows School of the Arts theatre and dance graduates Emily Ernst (Artistic Director), Joshua L. Peugh, Christopher Rutherford, and Professor Sara Romersberger. Their first production, Romeo and Juliet was called “Brutally political, youthfully erotic, and eternally tragic” by TheaterJones and “brisk and clear” by The Dallas Morning News. Two actors from the production were DFW Critics’ Picks as “Best Actor/Actress” for 2019-2020. Macbeth was called, “gimmick-free”, “electric”, “sexy and chilling” and was voted one of TACA’s best pop-up grant projects in 2022 As You Like It and King Lear were also awarded a pop-up grant.
