Pegasus Theatre is seeking eight versatile adult actors (18+) of any race, gender, or background for the world premiere of MacMurder!, part of our acclaimed Living Black & White® series. Performers will play one or more roles in this fast-paced, comedic murder mystery set in 1930s Scotland.
HOW TO AUDITION
To be considered, please complete the online audition form.
You’ll be asked to:
- Indicate any rehearsal or performance conflicts (see schedule below)
- Upload a headshot (JPEG) and theatrical résumé (PDF), if available
- Select an audition appointment time
We welcome all performers, including those without formal headshots or résumés.
Please prepare:
- A brief cold reading from sides we will provide in advance.
- A Scottish dialect (any regional variation is acceptable.)
Video Auditions:
If you are unable to attend in person, you may submit a video audition (max. 5 minutes) reading from the provided sides.
Submit your video to comedy@pegasustheatre.com by 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

ABOUT THE PLAY
MacMurder! is a new comedy murder mystery by Pegasus Theatre founder Kurt Kleinmann, part of the Living Black & White® series. These productions recreate the aesthetic of classic black-and-white films through a unique combination of makeup, costumes, lighting, and set design, combining to create an experience both visual and theatrical.
The story features the beloved recurring characters: Harry Hunsacker, Nigel Grouse, and Lt. Foster, with a new twist involving Scottish nobles, a mysterious castle, and (of course) murder!
FULL DISCLOSURE: The roles of Harry, Nigel, and Lt. Foster have been cast.
Character Breakdown
The production will feature an ensemble of eight actors, each portraying multiple roles. Character types include:

- Butler
- Cook
- Chauffeur
- Housekeeper
- Groundskeeper
- Maids
- Business Professionals
Note: Final character names and track assignments are still being determined. Performers with strong comedic timing, physicality, and character versatility are highly encouraged to audition.
