STAND Performing Arts Invited to the Daegu International Music Festival in South Korea with Into the Woods

KELLER, TX - STAND Performing Arts has been invited to South Korea to present our production of Into the Woods as part of the Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF).

DIMF is an international musical theatre festival featuring productions and artists from around the world. In addition to performing, our company will attend the festival’s award ceremony and walk the red carpet alongside fellow artists.

This production is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).  Into the Woods features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Lapine.

The production is directed and choreographed by Cameron Byerly, with music direction by Noël Edmonson and lighting design by Seth Merrifield. STAND’s Artistic Director, Renee Norris, will serve as Stage Manager for the production, and Executive Producer Jessie Beebe will lead the cast as the Narrator. 

When we arrive in Korea, we’ll spend two days in technical rehearsals, loading in lighting and sound and working with a set currently being built. We’ll bring our cast, costumes, and props and perform at Keimyung Art Center.

We invite our community to join us from 7:00–8:30 PM at STAND Performing Arts located at 805 Keller Parkway, Keller 76248

The evening will begin in the lobby with light refreshments and a photo gallery by Ryleigh Andersen. 

We’ll then share a 45-minute selection of music from Into the Woods, updated from last year’s production, followed by a 15-minute talkback with the cast and creative team.

While the Korean government is covering a significant portion of the trip, we are raising funds for additional production and travel expenses.
