EL EXORCISTA

The iconic story of faith and terror comes to the Dallas stage

A play by John Pielmeier

Based on the novel by William Peter Blatty

Spanish Adaptation by Omar Valdez Rocha

Directed by Ryan Matthieu Smith

DALLAS, TX - Inclusion Productions presents El Exorcista for five performances at the historic Kalita Humphreys Theater, October 29-November 1, 2026. Performed in Spanish with English subtitles, the production brings a Dallas ensemble together for a Halloween encounter with one of horror's most enduring stories.

SYNOPSIS

Based on William Peter Blatty's landmark novel - the story that inspired one of cinema's most unforgettable horror films - El Exorcista brings its terrifying confrontation between faith and evil to the live stage.

Actress Chris MacNeil's world begins to unravel when her twelve-year-old daughter, Regan, develops increasingly disturbing symptoms. Strange noises, violent outbursts, and an unfamiliar voice transform their home into a place of dread. When doctors can offer no explanation, Chris turns to Father Damien Karras, a priest and psychiatrist struggling with grief and his own fading faith. Joined by Father Merrin, an experienced exorcist, Karras must confront a presence that knows their deepest vulnerabilities - and uses them against everyone trying to save Regan.

At its heart, El Exorcista is a story of a mother's fierce love, the fragility of belief, and the sacrifices we make for one another. Featuring a special voice appearance by Christie Vela as Mary Karras and the Demon, Pazuzu, the production brings the nightmare to life through atmospheric sound, projections, and practical stage effects.
